Assistant Manager Sourcing
Description
- Manage the complete footwear sourcing lifecycle from development to bulk production
- Develop and analyze shoe costing to meet margin and quality targets
- Coordinate with import and local vendors for sampling, production, and deliveries
- Monitor production schedules and conduct regular factory follow-ups
- Manage factory development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Track import timelines and ensure adherence to shipment schedules
- Develop and maintain vendor scorecards and performance evaluations
- Ensure effective inter-departmental coordination with Design, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Accounts
- Manage payment plans and reconcile vendor payments with the Accounts team
- Maintain accurate sourcing data, reports, and documentation in ERP systems
- Support negotiation with vendors on pricing, lead times, and quality standards
- Ensure OTIF compliance through effective vendor coordination and delivery tracking
Qualification
Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Textile, or a related field
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of footwear construction and shoe costing
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Working knowledge of ERP systems
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and written communication skills
- Strong data management and reporting skills
- Ability to manage multiple vendors and timelines simultaneously
- Effective interpersonal and cross-functional coordination skills
Experience
6 to 8 years of relevant experience in footwear sourcing, manufacturing, or retail
