Assistant Manager Transport & logistics
Description
- Manage end-to-end transportation of goods from warehouses to retail outlets, and e-commerce partners ensuring timely and damage-free deliveries.
- Assist in planning and executing logistics strategies to optimize cost, efficiency, and service quality.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, transporters, and courier agencies. Negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and resolve issues.
- Monitor transport and logistics expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and maintain budget adherence.
- prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on logistics performance, delays, transit losses, and cost metrics for senior management.
- Work with internal stakeholders to streamline logistics processes using ERP/WMS systems.
- Liaise with store managers, warehouse staff, and cross-functional teams for smooth operations.
- Oversee and manage the transport team, including drivers and logistics staff, to ensure smooth operations.
Qualification
Master / Bachelor in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related filed
Required Skills
Familiarity with AX365 Dynamics, WMS & Route Planning tools
Strong Communication, Negotiation and Problem-solving skill
Experience
05 to 06 years’ experience of transport or logistics (preferable in retail Industry)
